Perhaps no part of an historic building suffers more during decades of remodeling and change than doors and windows. If your home or business’s original doors or windows have not survived and you would like replace the “replacements” with something more appropriate, please contact Historic Design. Using period millwork catalogs, design books and the study of surviving examples, Historic Design will help you select doors and windows. Correct glazing, molding profiles and panel arrangement mean your new doors or windows will be period-correct and harmonize with your historic building’s architectural style. We will produce a report with drawings and images which will allow you and your builder to select the transoms, windows, doors and sidelights that your restoration project requires.
